Clearfield County, PA
First Book-Clearfield County formed in December of 2005 with the mission to give children from low-income families in Clearfield County their very own new books. Our Advisory Board is comprised of dedicated community members with an interest in promoting literacy and quality early care and education for young children. With the help of donations from the community, we have been able to put books into the hands of local children who need them the most. Just $2.50 can put a new book into the hands of a child. Book Grant RecipientsFirst Book-Clearfield County has given book grants to many programs in Clearfield County, Pennsylvania. A typical book grant lasts for a six month period and offers each child in the program a steady diet of books (usually one book per month), all at no cost to the program. Because program administrators select the titles from the First Book Marketplace, our book grants enable programs — often for the first time — to select books to integrate into curriculum. The following are some of the organizations that have received book grants from First Book-Clearfield County.
